Makayla Gummersheimer | Athlete of the Week

The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is young softball standout Makayla Gummersheimer of Waterloo. As a member of the Midwest Patriots 16U select squad, Gummersheimer smacked four home runs during the recent USSSA Missouri East State Tournament in St. Peters, Mo. She also caught all eight games in sweltering heat as her team placed second overall out of 22 total teams.
