Judith A. Harman | Obituary

Judith “Judy” A. Harman 83, of Springfield, died March 11, 2024, at her home. She was born March 29, 1940, in Columbia, to Kermit and Rosalind Mehrmann Blittersdorf.

She was a member of First Congregational Church, Springfield Bible Church and King’s Daughters Organization. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, shopping and volunteering whenever she could serve a need. 

Judy retired from the State of Illinois Department of Transportation in November 2000 as an executive assistant to the chief counsel. 

Survivors include her daughters Kelly Lorton of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Sheila Bartlett of Chatham, son Matthew Lorton of Chatham and grandchildren, Ann Womack, Lukas Lorton, Lane Lorton and JD Bartlett.  

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation is 5-6 p.m. March 21 at Staab Funeral Home, Springfield. 

A memorial service will follow at the funeral home with Pastor John Standard officiating. 

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. March 22, at St. Paul Evangelical Cemetery in Columbia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or King’s Daughters Organization.
