The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is minor league pitcher Josh Fleming of Columbia.

The 2014 Columbia High School graduate was drafted last year in the fifth round by the Tampa Bay Rays following a dominant season on the mound at Webster University in St. Louis.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound lefty is 4-1 with a 1.17 ERA in eight starts this season for the Bowling Green Hot Rods of the Class A Midwest League. He has 33 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched. (submitted photo)
