The Illinois Department of Transportation announced extended lane restrictions on southbound I-255 between Route 3 (Exit 6) and the Jefferson Barracks Bridge in Monroe County through 3 p.m. Saturday, March 2, weather permitting.

The two right lanes of southbound I-255 going toward St. Louis County will remain closed during this time to allow for repairs to the bridge over the multi-track railroad west of Exit 6, IDOT said.

All entrance and exit ramps will remain open during this effort. Advanced signage will be implemented to warn motorists of this work. IDOT said it will establish the needed traffic control and perform the required maintenance.
