Gibault and Columbia each clinched regional soccer championships Friday and are poised to meet in the first round of sectional play Wednesday.

The Hawks defeated Anna Jonesboro, 3-2, on goals by Tyler Enright, Wes Degener and Mitch Meyer at Oerter Park in Columbia. The Eagles shut out Freeburg, 3-0, with Andrew Dossett scoring two goals and Matthew Roderick one, at Freeburg High School.

The teams will play Wednesday, at 5 p.m., at CHS, in the first Columbia Sectional semifinal game. The winner will play either Harrisburg or Althoff in the sectional championship game Friday at 6 p.m., at CHS.
