The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo High School football player Gavin Lich. The junior defender turned in an impressive showing during Friday’s 21-12 victory at Jerseyville for the Bulldogs with eight tackles, 10 assists, two fumble recoveries and a sack. In fact, Lich is fourth in the entire St. Louis area in total tackles so far this season with 76, including eight tackles for a loss.
