Football regular season comes to an end

The high school football regular season came to a close on Friday night.

Columbia’s football season will continue next week with a first round playoff game. But the Eagles remained undefeated on the regular season at 9-0 with a 35-12 win over Nashville on Friday.

Quarterback Drew Huebner threw two TD passes in the game, with Jordan Holmes and Chris Wagner coming up with the grabs. Kenny Fields ran for two TDs as well, with one going 80-yards to the house. Greg Long also scored on a run.

Waterloo’s season finished on a high note, beating Mater Dei at home 28-21 to finish the season 4-5.

Quarterback Aaron Laskowski threw for two TDs and ran the eventual game winner in during the fourth quarter. Max Jennings had one rushing TD.

After coming up with their first win of the season last week, Dupo football lost to Pinckneyville on the road, 42-7.
