The Waterloo Optimist Club’s 18th annual 5K Run and Fun Walk takes place this Saturday, Aug. 28, at Rogers Elementary School, 200 N. Rogers Street. The start time is 8 a.m.

Cost is $20 per person if registered by Aug. 21 or $25 after.  All proceeds from the race benefit local youth programs.

Free food will be provided before and after the race.
