The Steve Krausz Classic Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for Oct. 9 at Acorns Golf Links, 3933 Ahne Road, Waterloo. There will be an auction during lunch highlighted by the chance to bid on one of two opportunities to experience an old-fashioned butchering opportunity much like your parents or grandparents have told you stories about. The unique opportunity comes as the hog will be harvested at Schubert’s Smokehouse of Millstadt, but then brought back to the farm where you can participate as much or as little as you care to in the processing, it will include well-known and longtime meat master Larry Schubert as your celebrity butcher, all the old-time memories and stories, the wood-fired kettles, home-made wine, lunch and just an overall memorable time and experience. Each bid winner will received a half butchered hog.
