Morrison-Talbott Library, 215 Park Street, Waterloo, is hosting an “Open Books, Open Hearts, Open Minds”  banned book fair from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14. During this multi-session workshop, adult and young adult attendees will participate in facilitated discussions about specific books which have been banned and challenged at schools and libraries. During one of the workshop sessions, “celebrity” readers will read selections of banned and challenged material. Kids are also invited to attend a youth workshop with crafts and guided discussions about why some books are challenged. For more information, call the library at 618-939-6232.
