Hills and Hollows Half Marathon 5K Event
The 14th Annual Hills and Hollows Half Marathon, 5K Event is held Saturday 22nd of September and starts at 7:30 A.M. in Valmeyer, IL. We officially start the event with the American Legion Honor Guard presenting the American Flag followed by the National Anthem being sung. The Half Marathon is Certified course and considered to be “One of the Best Certified Half Marathon in Southern Illinois”. Aid stations are every mile, located near every mile marker with Water and Gatorade being distributed by enthusiastic volunteers. The course is on flat to rolling to hilly country roads, surrounding runners with a quilt patch of fall foliage in the Illinois Ozarks with corn and soybean fields at harvest time. The Hills and Hollows RRCA hosting this event is a Non-profit organization per IRS rule 501©3 donating funds to The BackStoppers, Valmeyer Active Firemen Association and Maeystown Fire Department.
