Halloween Hi-Jinks | Columbia

October 28, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

It wouldn’t be Halloween in Columbia without kids in costumes trick-or-treating along Main Street.

The annual Halloween Hi-Jinks takes place Saturday, Oct. 28.

Participating businesses will be passing out treats for the kids from 10 a.m. until noon.

Ghosts, goblins and kids in cute and creepy costumes are invited to stop by City Hall from 10 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. for music from O.O.P.A., activities, games, and special treats sponsored by local businesses, churches and civic organizations.

A costume contest sponsored by Columbia’s Resourceful Organization of Women Networking will take place at noon.

This newly combined event will take the place of the “Scare Square and Pumpkin Glow” held previous years on Halloween night.

Main Street will be closed to traffic from Whiteside to Cherry for the safety of children.

Main Street business owners request that parents continue to keep a close eye on their children as they move from business to business — especially in those areas where the street is not closed.

Trick-or-treating begins at the Old Distillery and continues south down Main Street.
