Examining Owl Pellets
October 4 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Free
Clifftop president and biology professor, Bob Weck, will lead this event where kids can learn about the diet of owls and the anatom6y of the mammal skeleton by dissecting “owl pellets.” Owls swallow their prey (mostly small mammals) whole and regurgitate a lump undigested fur and bones called a pellet. We will pick apart some owl pellets to identify the bones and figure out what kind of animals they came from. Participation is limited to 16 children ages 6-16. Register to attend by calling or texting 618-340-1772 or emailing cliffmbr@htc.net.
