A blood drive in honor of Kaylee Muertz takes place this Monday, July 27 at St. Mary Parish Center in Valmeyer.
Kaylee is a sixth grader in Valmeyer who was diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a life-threatening condition that occurs when the body no longer produces enough new blood cells and platelets. After multiple treatments with blood and platelet products, she is doing better.
Kaylee wants to give back. Your blood donation may be the treatment that helps another child get to grow up.
The blood drive, which is sponsored by Thrivent Financial, takes place from 1-7 p.m.
