The Waterloo Optimist Club and Ferm Homebrew Club are hosting their second annual Beer-B-Que competition on Main Street outside of the courthouse this Saturday, May 11.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with tickets required for entry and samplings.
Tickets are available for sale (cash only) at Stubborn German Brewing Co. in Waterloo or online at https://beerbquewaterloo.brownpapertickets.com. The combo tasting price is $45 or $25 each for homebrew only and BBQ only.
Brewers and BBQers will be set up next to one another to allow patrons to sample beer and food as they walk through the event grounds. All proceeds go to help the Waterloo Optimist Club support local youth.
