Electrical fire in Waterloo

At about 2:35 a.m. Friday, the Waterloo Fire Department and City of Waterloo electrical workers responded to the area of Sonic and Huck’s on Route 3 at North Market Street after a power line made contact with a crossarm on a city utility pole, resulting in a small fire.

Firefighters secured the area and monitored the burning crossarm.

“City utilities arrived quickly, killing the power, used one of our extinguishers on the crossarm and repaired the crossarm,” Waterloo Fire Chief Mike Lloyd said.
