Columbia High School volleyball player Colene Hamilton is this week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week. Hamilton, a sophomore, recorded 13 kills in the regional semifinal Tuesday night against Waterloo. The Eagles won in three sets to advance to Thursday’s regional final, which they won against Mascoutah on Thursday night. Hamilton also led the team in kills in the title game with 8.

Hamilton leads the Eagles (32-4) in kills this season with 195. She has also served 24 aces and is among the team leaders in points with 147.
