Candy Cane Classic wraps up

Action continued last week in the Candy Cane Classic girls basketball tournament as Red Bud defeated Cahokia, 57-42, while Roxana topped Wood River, 54-48, Dec. 17.

On Dec. 18, Windsor defeated Gibault, 43-29, while Columbia easily got past Waterloo, 54-24. Kaylee Bastien and Regan Rippelmeyer led a balanced offensive attack for the Eagles against the Bulldogs, each scoring 9 points. Taylor Augustine led the Bulldogs with 11 points.

The championship game between Red Bud and Windsor was played Saturday, with the Musketeers falling 44-34.
