Columbia police are investigating an attempted burglary that occurred early Wednesday morning at Red Roof Liquor & Lottery, 301 Southport Drive.

Video surveillance footage shows that at about 4:10 a.m., a light-colored Chevy Silverado pulled into the lot, after which a male walked over to the entrance of Red Roof. This subject damaged a door to the business with a lug nut wrench, then attempted to kick the door to gain entry but was unsuccessful.
