The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo High School bowler Matthew Eller. The junior placed sixth overall at the IHSA state bowling tournament held this past weekend at St. Clair Bowl, leading the Bulldogs to a fourth place team finish. Eller’s average at state was 221.6 per game. At the sectional, Eller averaged 220.8 per game to lead Waterloo to a team sectional championship.
