The Waterloo High School girls softball team is this week’s Republic-Times Team of the Week.

Despite the team’s 0-5 start to the season, the Bulldogs have turned it around winning their last eight games in a row. That improves the ‘Dogs record to 8-5.

Since WHS has been on its win streak, the team has only had one close game coming against Dupo on April 5, in which the Bulldogs defeated the Tigers in a nail-biter at home, 6-5. In the rest of the team’s wins, Waterloo has only allowed its opponents three runs or less, with its last three wins coming as shut-outs.

Waterloo is currently undefeated in conference play and will take on Highland in its third Mississippi Valley Conference game of the season Wednesday at home. The Bulldogs lead the MVC offensively with 100 runs scored.

Congrats girls, keep up the good work!
