Waterloo Santa Float runs Dec. 17-24

An annual Christmastime tradition in Waterloo, the ever-popular Santa Float prepares for take-off outside the home of Waterloo German Band leader Harry Wolf last year. Assuming the Santa and elf duties on that night were George Obernagel (Santa), Brad Nobbe and Jim Probst (on float), with Steve and Vicki Frank standing in front. (Kermit Constantine photo)

The Waterloo German Band float will again be transformed with holiday cheer to bring Santa to all who are near.

The float will run Dec. 17-24. This project is made possible by donations from local businesses and residents. If you would like to donate, call 939-8600, ext. 211.

Santa’s float will head out every evening at 5 p.m., with the exception of Sunday, Dec. 22. On Sunday, Santa and his float will begin at 4 p.m. by spending an hour on Main Street at the courthouse square.

This is to allow folks to stop by for a photo with Santa, and for the kids who may have missed Santa on his route to stop by for their treat.

On Dec. 17 and 21, the float will go to North Winds, Rose Meadows, Dannehold Farms, Sterritt’s Run, Stoney Creek, Lou-Del, Westview Acres, Lakeview Estates, West Lake Estates, Silver Creek Crossing, The Meadows and Sunset Acres.

On Dec. 18 and 22, the float will go to Pautler Heights, Gibault area, VFW area, Downtown, Leland Terrace, and  Springview Acres.

On Dec. 19 and 23, the float will go to Market Street, East Sandalwood, Greenfield Manor, Morrison Avenue, Hardy Acres, Bellefontaine Heights, Stonefield, Vandebrook, and Southview Villas.

On Dec. 20 and 24, the float will go to Villas at Bradford, Marneys Clearing, Bradford Estates, Remlok, East Ridge, Quail Ridge, The Ridge, Parkwood and Country Lakes.
