The Waterloo Fire Department responded to a fire Thursday night that caused damage to a large storage structure, an old camper and other debris located at 8149 D Road near HH Road.

The fire was called in by a Monroe County Sheriff’s Department deputy sometime around 8:15 p.m. He noticed a large plume of smoke in the distance from his location in the Valmeyer area and alerted emergency dispatch.

There were no nearby residences in immediate danger of the fire; no injuries were reported.

The property belongs to Steve Killy of S & P Excavating, police said. It appeared an old camper caught fire and spread to portions of a nearby storage structure.

A cause of the blaze is undetermined at this time.
