Mark J. Whaley

Mark James Whaley, 34, of Columbia, died July 17, 2015, at Saint Louis University Hospital, St. Louis.

He was born July 11, 1981, in Belleville, son of Larry and Patricia Whaley (nee Manning) of Columbia.

He was married to Jessica Whaley (nee Pautler), who survives him. They were married June 11, 2005, in Columbia.

Mark was a laborer and member of Laborers Local 100, East St. Louis.

He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast who never met a stranger and made friends wherever his travels took him. He loved the thrill of the ride.

Mark’s loyalty to his family and friends was his greatest trait.

Along with his parents and wife, he is survived by his daughters Izabelle and Bridget Whaley of Columbia; sister Patricia Jarvis of Columbia; brothers Steve (Terri) North of Granite City, Michael Whaley and David Whaley of Dupo; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation is Friday, July 24, from 3 to 6 pm., at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m., at the funeral home, following the visitation.

Cremation will follow.
