Delores C. Gruber | Obituary

Delores Caroline Gruber, 83, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Waterloo, died March 8, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Mount Vernon.

She was born Dec. 27, 1932, daughter of the late Franz and Pauline Gruber (nee Berger), in East Saint Louis.

She was a waitress for most of her working life and was of the Lutheran faith.

Left to mourn her passing are one daughter, Peggy Ross, of Ashley; brothers Alvin (Carol) Gruber of Waterloo, Donald (Pat) Gruber of Columbia, Marvin Gruber, of Waterloo, Francis “Butch” (Annette) Gruber of Waterloo, and Eugene (Shari) Gruber of Evansville; sisters Patricia Earhart of Dupo, and Karen (Kenneth) Sitzes of Waterloo; grandchildren Amber (Nick) Pytlinski, of Ashley, and David Dodge of Ashley; her great-grandchildren Raylynn Dodge, Lillyann Dodge, and Ariana Pytlinski, all of Ashley; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth Gruber, sister Violet Kurtz, and granddaughter Ashley.

A memorial service will be April 3, in the Recreation Hall of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waterloo, from 1 to 5 p.m.

The Creason Funeral Home, Waterloo, assisted the family with arrangements.
