CPD trying to locate man wanted for assault and battery

Columbia police are asking for assistance from the public in locating a local man who is wanted on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery following an incident that occurred Monday night.

Police have obtained arrest warrants on Anthony M. Crowe, 26, of Columbia. Bond has been set at $50,000. Sometime after 7 p.m. Monday, an incident occurred in the 400 block of South Main Street in Columbia during which Crowe allegedly punched and kicked a victim in the face and held a knife to the victim’s throat, police said. Two persons were transported to an area hospital as a result of the incident.

Crowe, whose last known address is in the 100 block of South Riebeling Street in Columbia, remains at large as of Tuesday afternoon.

“We are asking for the public’s assistance with locating Crowe. If you are aware of Crowe’s whereabouts, please contact the Columbia Police Department immediately at 618- 281-5151,” Columbia Police Chief Joe Edwards said.
