The Columbia High School girls basketball team is this week’s Republic-Times Team of the Week.

Columbia battled its way into the Class 3A Waterloo Sectional Semifinals, in the program’s first season competing in 3A.

The Eagles made it the furthest into the postseason of all the area girls teams, with the exception of Red Bud — who made it to the 1A Dupo Sectional Championships.

The team also achieved their 20-win milestone, ending their season with a record of 20-7.

The team is comprised of: Katie Barton, Kaylee Bastien, Megan Biscan, Olivia Brower, Rachel Garcia, Calli Germain, Taylor Maglasang, Taryn Pena, Danielle Sellers, Erika Varel and Savannah Wittenbrink — this week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week.

The Lady Eagles are coached by Scott Germain.
