The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Columbia High School swimmer Carter Nelson.

The junior competed in his third straight IHSA state swim meet near Chicago over the weekend, placing sixth in the 100-yard freestyle final and placing ninth in the 50-yard freestyle final on Saturday.
