Jim Apenbrinck

Alois E. “Jim” Apenbrinck, 79, of Waterloo, died April 2, 2015, in Panama City, Fla.

He was born Oct. 28, 1935, in St. Louis, son of the late Alois J. and Florence Apenbrinck (nee Mense).

Jim died suddenly in Panama City Beach, Fla., his favorite vacation spot, surrounded by his wife and a few loved ones. He retired from Sears & Roebuck, and he enjoyed 23 years of retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Mary C. Apenbrinck (nee McMahon); children Mike (Cheri) Apenbrinck, Jeanne (Gregg) Scott, Janice (Mark) Risinger, and Linda (Steve) Simon; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; along with brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister in infancy.

Visitation was April 7-8, at Quernheim Funeral Home.

Funeral services were April 8, at Quernheim Funeral Home, Father Osang Idagbo officiating.

Interment followed at St. John Cemetery, St. Louis.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Association.
