William H. Mueller Jr. | Obituary

William H. Mueller Jr., 83, of Waterloo, died Aug. 12, 2017, in Columbia.

He was born March 22, 1934, in St. Louis, son of the late William H. Sr. and Hilda Mueller (nee Zink).

He is a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo.

He was the director of the Monroe County Fair Board for 46 years, and was a charter member of Monroe County FFA Alumni. He was a Monroe County Farm Bureau member, a Monroe County Tax Payers Association member, a past 4-H leader, and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife Edna M. Mueller (nee Roider); children Kathy (John) Whaley and Jeannette (John) Kelly; granddaughter Elizabeth Whaley; sister Laverne Hesterberg; sisters-in-law Virginia Mueller, Erna Roider, Ora Roider, and Ardell Roider; brother-in-law Eldon (JoAnn) Roider; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

William is preceded in death by his parents and brother Harold Mueller.

Visitation was Aug. 14-15, at Quernheim Funeral Home and St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo, Pastor Merlyn Lawrence officiating.

Interment followed at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery, Waterloo.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or Waterloo FFA Alumni Scholarship Fund.
