Wednesday crash in Columbia

Emergency personnel responded shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Route 3 at Carl Street in Columbia.

Route 3 southbound was shut down temporarily as public safety officials worked at the scene.

Police said a white 2015 Buick sedan driven by Anthony Habrock, 89, of Swansea, was traveling south on Route 3 and attempted to turn left onto Carl Street when it was T-boned by a red Chevrolet pickup driven by Lukas Moore, 19, of Dupo, which was traveling north on Route 3.

Habrock and an adult front-seat passenger in his car were both transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The passenger required extrication from the vehicle by the Columbia Fire Department.
