Virgil D. Bush | Obituary

Virgil D. Bush, 87, of Waterloo, and formerly of Carlyle, died Feb. 9, 2015 in Belleville.

He was born March 20, 1927 in Sparta, son of the late Richard Steel and Glema Bush, nee Blackwell.

He was a part of the U.S. Merchant Marine.

Virgil is survived by his wife, Rosemary Bush, nee Buehler; children Karen (Clem) Ruesler, Richard (Janet) Bush, Linda Ferrell, Virgil (Judy) Bush Jr.; brothers Leonard (Virgina) Bush, Brentice (Betty) Bush; sister Marsha Crossin; 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 13 and 9 to 10 a.m. Feb. 14 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Feb. 14 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.

Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle.
