The woman killed in Tuesday’s crash on Route 158 near Millstadt has been identified as 48-year-old Jody Graff of Columbia.

At about 2 p.m. Tuesday, a minivan driven by Graff was traveling westbound on Route 158 when it ran into the rear of a dump truck that had slowed to make a left turn onto Roenicke Road just east of Freeburg-Douglas Road in St. Clair County. She was pronounced dead at the scene by a St. Clair County coroner’s official.

Route 158 was closed for a few hours as Illinois State Police investigators worked the scene.

Graff, formerly of Cahokia, had worked as a home health care nurse in the area prior to her recent employment as a school nurse in the Millstadt school district.

A memorial gathering will take place this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Braun Family Funeral Home in Columbia. Services will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Shaun Craig officiating. Private cremation was held.
