Waterloo police and Monroe County EMS were assisted by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department in responding to a two-vehicle crash with injury on Route 3 at North Market Street. The crash occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Monday.

Police said a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Sandra Metzger, 71, of Waterloo, was making a left turn and came into the path of a Jeep Wrangler driven by Kyle Smith, 19, of Waterloo.

A 19-year-old passenger in Smith’s vehicle was transported by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Metzger was treated by EMS personnel at the scene but refused medical transport. She was cited for failure to yield.
