The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Monroe County and surrounding areas about 10 a.m. Tuesday. Heavy rains and reports of small hail swept through the area about 10:30 a.m.

A few minor roadway obstructions (limbs, debris) were reported throughout the county as a result of the storm. Water over the roadway was reported about 11:30 a.m. by a sheriff’s deputy driving on Bluff Road just south of Fountain Road near Valmeyer due to heavy rains.

A flash flood warning was also issued for this area until 3 p.m. Tuesday.
