Columbia girls basketball player Savannah Wittenbrink is this week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week.
Wittenbrink helped lead her team to a Sectional semifinal berth this season, making the Eagles one of the top local teams in the region. (The Eagles are this week’s Team of the Week as well.)
This season Wittenbrink had an impressive 12 double-doubles, 334 points (118 more than the second leading Eagle scorer), 258 rebounds (96 more than the second leading Columbia rebounder), 49 steals and 30 blocks.
The senior also reached her 1,000 point career milestone midway through the season. She averaged 12.4 points per game and shot 52 percent from the field on the season. She also averaged 9.6 rebounds per game.
Wittenbrink is a CHS three-sport athlete — volleyball, basketball and softball.
