Police: missing Waterloo girl found safe in Indiana

A 13-year-old Waterloo girl who was reported missing by her family early Saturday morning has been located safe and sound in southern Indiana, police said.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department was working with Indiana State Police in reuniting Katelynn Goodwin (pictured) with her family. Police said Goodwin apparently drove away from home in her mother’s black 2001 Chrysler four-door sedan on Friday night.

Police said Goodwin ran out of gas in Indiana and called home. Her parents and Monroe County sheriff’s deputies then coordinated with Indiana police to locate her without further incident.
