Columbia Police

June 16

Joe L.P. Shields, 31, of St. Louis, was charged with felony unlawful possession of a forged temporary license plate.

June 25

Matthew R. Mohrmann, 34, of Columbia, was arrested for aggravated battery of a police officer after he allegedly made “contact of an insulting and provoking nature” with police officer Gary Craig.

June 27

Victoria P. Voelkel, 18, and Jakob J. Hoffman, 19, both of Columbia, were cited for unlawful consumption of alcohol at Red Roof Liquor & Lottery, 301 Southport Drive.

June 28

Carrigan S. Bequette, 23, of Columbia, was charged with felony disorderly conduct following a false report of theft to police on March 18.

June 30

Police assisted the Columbia Fire Department in responding shortly after 10:30 a.m. for the report of a construction crew striking an unmarked gas line in the 400 block of St. Paul Street. Fire department personnel located a “fully ruptured” two-inch main at the scene. Columbia EMS was also called to stage in the area. Ameren was notified and arrived on scene shortly after 11 a.m. Streets in the area were closed as crews work to fix the gas line.

July 2

Amber N. VanDyke, 38, of Sterling, was arrested for domestic battery at Hampton Inn, 165 Admiral Trost Drive. A short time later at that same location, Janna N. Finder, 30, of Cahokia, was arrested on a St. Clair County felony warrant.

Monroe County Sheriff

June 27

Joshua M. Becker, 38, Waterloo, was charged with aggravated battery (strangle) and unlawful restraint following an incident with a female victim.

June 28

Cory W. Becker,  42, of Waterloo, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

June 28

Robert L. Goetz, 71, of Cahokia, was arrested for violating an order of protection.

June 29

Andrew Olsson of Waterloo was issued a city ordinance violation for failing to improve off-street parking in the 400 block of Park Street to an approved hard surface after receiving prior notice. 

Melissa Villeda of Waterloo was issued a city ordinance violation for failing to improve off-street parking to an approved hard surface after receiving prior notice. She also failed to move a fence on her property and did not fix drainage and backfall on her property to run away from her residence on Judith Lane.
