Columbia Police
Oct. 18 – Elaine K. Polizzi, 62, of Waterloo, was arrested for DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving in the wrong lane and improper lane usage on Route 3 near Hill Castle Lane shortly after 10 p.m. Cars swerved to avoid her vehicle as it was traveling north in the southbound lanes before crashing. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Oct. 24 – Dennis L. Daugherty Jr., 45, of Wood River, was charged with deceptive practice following an incident at River Lakes Golf Course, 2218 Ramsey Road. It is alleged that Daugherty organized a Sept. 27 golf tournament that was billed as a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, but no funds were donated to the charity.

Illinois State Police
Oct. 22 – Two Waterloo residents were involved in a seven-motorcycle crash that occurred about 3:30 p.m. on Route 148 near the I-57 entrance ramp in Williamson County. ISP said motorcycles in the front of a pack slowed due to turning traffic, resulting in the motorcycles at the rear of the pack crashing into them. A 28-year-old Benton woman, 35-year-old Whittington man and 27-year-old Salem man were all transported to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A 2011 Harley-Davidson driven by Gregory J. Hipp, 47, of Waterloo, and 2010 Harley-Davidson driven by Corinna L. Hipp, 27, of Waterloo, were involved in the crash, but neither driver was injured.

Monroe County Sheriff
Oct. 17 – A report from a resident of Kaskaskia Road of credit card fraud and identity theft is under investigation.
Oct. 21 – Tricia Rauh, 31, of Fults, was arrested for domestic battery on Jacob Lane in Maeystown.
Oct. 21 – A resident of Woodland Trail reported a possible case of identity theft.
Oct. 22 – A resident of South Fork Road reported an August incident in which three dogs attacked their pet pot-bellied pig, resulting in injury.
Oct. 23 – The theft of phone cards between inmates at the Monroe County Jail is under investigation.
Oct. 23 – Nicholas A. Ahrens, 47, of Valmeyer, was arrested on a Monroe County failure to appear warrant.

Waterloo Police
Oct. 19 – Daniel Griffin, 54, of Waterloo, was cited for disorderly conduct after allegedly flipping off and cursing at another subject on Route 3 near U-Gas.
Oct. 19 – Scott Augusto, 57, of Castalian Springs, Tenn., was arrested on Route 3 at South Library Street for possession of cannabis (more than 10 grams but less than 30 grams), possession of a cannabis sativa plant, improper lane usage, driving while license suspended and no insurance.
Oct. 22 – Matthew Romer, 21, of St. Louis, was arrested for DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident in the roundabout construction zone on Park Street at Lakeview Drive.
Oct. 22 – Britny Mynch, 26, of New Athens, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant.
