Men charged in ATM theft from tavern

Two Missouri men were charged last week with the theft of an ATM machine from Route 3 Bar & Grill south of Waterloo in December.

Larry E. Jones, 48, of St. Charles, Mo., and Lucky B. Miner, 45, of St. Louis, were both charged with burglary and theft for their roles in the Dec. 10 incident at 6180 State Route 3 near Kaskaskia Road.

Bond was set for both men at $100,000. Jones is in custody at the St. Louis County Justice Center; Miner is in custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department is still attempting to identify a third suspect from the burglary.

Anyone with information on his identity is asked to contact the sheriff’s department at 939-6464.

The theft occurred shortly after 4 a.m. Dec. 10, with forced entry gained through the front door of the tavern. The ATM machine was removed through a patio door.

Video surveillance images showed three suspects stealing the machine from the tavern.
