Marie Prindiville

The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Marie Prindiville, a soon-to-be eighth grader at Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Columbia who finished sixth in the Festival of Miles competition at Saint Louis University High School on June 2.The event was created to celebrate the history of the mile run in the U.S. and invites elite runners from around the country to compete.

In the junior high girls invitational, Prindiville placed sixth out of 22 runners with a mile time of 5:37.45.  This time equates to a 1,600-meter time of 5:35.59 and is a new school record.

Marie is the daughter of Tom and Penny Prindiville of Columbia.
