Marcia Lynn Spytek | Obituary

Marcia Lynn Spytek, nee Withum, 61, of Waterloo, died March 7, 2015 in Waterloo.

She was born Nov. 20, 1953, daughter of Erv (Margaret) Withum and the late Jeanette D. Withum, nee Asselmeier.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waterloo, part time secretary at the church, registered nurse, taught children’s Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and did other volunteer work at church.

Marcia is survived by her husband, John L. Spytek; children John C. (Amy) Spytek and Christena (Jamie) Frank; grandchildren Athena Spytek, Gavin Spytek, Nora Frank; father Erv (Margaret) Withum; brothers Dan (Sheila) Withum and David (Jessica) Withum; along with sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanette D. Withum, nee Asselmeier and son Jason M. Spytek.

Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. March 9 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo and from 9 to 10 a.m. March 10 at First Baptist Church in Waterloo.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. March 10 at the church.

Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Maeystown.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church – Waterloo scholarship fund, building fund or playground fund.
