Man wanted on multiple charges

Illinois State Police are searching for William J. Wellmon, who was involved in a fatal accident on April 18th. He has been charged and ISP is asking for the public’s help in locating Wellmon.

On June 13, the St. Clair County State’s Attorneys Office charged William J. Wellmon, 36, with one count of reckless homicide and one count of aggravated DUI causing death. These charges stem from a one car traffic accident on April 18, on northbound Route 4 at Mud Creek Road in rural Marissa.

A passenger in Wellmon’s vehicle, identified as Daniel Pocrnich, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

Illinois State Police said Wellmon has not been arrested on the charges and anyone with knowledge of his current whereabouts is asked to contact their local police department, the ISP at 618-346-3990 or ISP Special Agent Devin Watts at 618-346-3760.

Bail on the charges was set at $250,000.
