The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo High School football player Lexi Stephens. A kicker for the Bulldogs, Stephens became the first female to score a point in a varsity game in WHS football history. Stephens, who is a goalkeeper on Waterloo’s girls soccer squad, successfully kicked an extra point late in Friday’s home loss to Mater Dei. “She’s done a solid job for us,” WHS head football coach Dan Rose said.
