This week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo Millers second baseman Jake Friederich. He is pictured at right, receiving the Midsummer Classic MVP plaque from tournament organizer Chris Rohlfing of the Valmeyer Lakers. Friederich went 6-for-15 at the plate with two home runs and six RBIs to lead the Millers to three wins in the Midsummer Classic and the first place trophy.
