Gibault High School Volleyball | Team of the Week

The 2016 Gibault Catholic High School volleyball team.

The Republic-Times Team of the Week is the Gibault Catholic High School volleyball squad.

The Hawks are off to a 6-1 start on the season.

The team picked up wins at home last week against Red Bud and Wesclin, followed by victories Monday night over both Red Bud and Lovejoy to open the Marissa/New Athens Tournament. They defeated Trico in the tourney on Wednesday, and went on to lose to Columbia before defeating New Athens to bring home third place.

Seniors Kelly Dooley and Hillary Wessel were named to the all-tournament team.

Corey is the editor of the Republic-Times. He has worked at the newspaper since 2004, and currently resides in Columbia. He is also the principal singer-songwriter and plays guitar in St. Louis area country-rock band The Trophy Mules.
