Fire at Naumann Woodwork in Columbia

The Columbia Fire Department responded at about 9:30 a.m. Monday to a small fire inside the shop at Naumann Woodwork and Supplies at 112 West Whiteside Street. Smoke was showing upon firefighter arrival.

Columbia Fire Chief Mike Roediger said an electrical issue sparked a piece of equipment in the shop and caught some rags and towels on fire. The small fire was extinguished quickly, but smoke damage was reported throughout the business.

Water damage was confined to the shop area, Roediger said. No injuries were reported.
