Waterloo Homecoming

The Waterloo Homecoming takes place this Friday and Saturday, Aug. 24-25, on the Monroe County Courthouse grounds.
The homecoming opens at 4 p.m. both days, with a parade set to take place 5 p.m. Saturday. The parade route is south on Moore Street from Gibault Catholic High School, left on Fourth Street, left on Library Street, right on Mill Street and left on Main Street before finishing at First Street.
The theme of this year’s parade is “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”
The homecoming will feature food, carnival rides, crafts and live music.
Musical entertainment on Friday includes the Waterloo Municipal Band from 7-8 p.m. and Sofa Kings from 8 p.m. to midnight. Musical entertainment on Saturday includes the Bud Light Brigade from 7-8 p.m. and Hypertension from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Advance carnival ride tickets may be purchased at local banks until noon Friday.
