Fish fry season is in full swing around the county. Below are a few options to satisfy your lent appetite.

The Waterloo VFW Metzger-Crook Post 6504 and Auxiliary, 406 Veterans Drive have a Friday Lenten menu featuring fish plates, sandwiches or bulk orders and sides. Credit cards are accepted. Fish is served Fridays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Call 618-939-7999 for more information or to order.

The Valmeyer Knights of Columbus will continue fish fries this Friday, March 24, at the St. Mary Church Hall, 116 W. Woodland Ridge. Fish will be served from 4-7:30 p.m. with dine-in or carry out available for cod or shrimp plates and homemade sides.  They will also have fish April 1 and April 8.
