An electronics recycling event for Columbia residents takes place from 8 a.m. to noon this Saturday, Aug. 1 on McDannold Drive.
Proof of residency is required and strict COVID-19 restrictions will be enforced.
All electronics must be placed in the trunk or hatchback of a vehicle. Residents must stay in their vehicles, wear a mask and pay fees by check or exact change. See complete restrictions and details at columbiaillinois.com.
All small, loose electronics, cables, cords and remotes must be bagged and tied closed.
The fees to dispose of TVs and monitors range from $5 to $35, depending on size and type (measured diagonally).
